School Policies

General Guidelines

  • All the parent, teachers and students must abide by the rules and School policies.
  • All students must reach the school by 9: 00 AM.  The school gates will be closed at 9:10 AM.
  • School fees and transport fees must be paid before the stipulated time.
  • Parents must go through the child’s diary everyday and sign after noting down the communication from school.
  • Parents must see that the child carries the books and other learning material as per the timetable. Any unnecessary material brought to school will be confiscated.
  • Everybody in the campus must behave in a disciplined and orderly way at all times.
  • The communication between parents, teachers and students must be positive, cordial and purposeful.
  • Proactive participation of Staff, students and parents in all school events and activities is expected.
  • Everybody must behave with respect and courtesy towards fellow beings at all times. Use of indecent language and mannerisms will be strictly dealt with
  • Students and Teachers must utilize the learning space, resources, curriculum and infrastructure in the best possible manner to enhance learning.
  • Everybody must be responsible for the good maintenance of the school property; damage of any kind will be penalized.
  • The school, classrooms and playground must be kept neat and clean. Swacch Bharat is our mission too, so let us keep our immediate surrounding clean to begin with.
  • Parents must spend minimum 30 minutes with their child every evening discussing learning and other activities done at school. Quality time with your child will enhance your child’s performance too.
  • Parents must attend the Parent Teacher Meeting to know about the performance and progress of the child.
  • Parents must avoid giving junk food for snacks or lunch.
  • All the students and staff are expected to attend the school on the reopening day of every term without fail.

Child Safety

  • School believes that the child is the heart of the institution and everything revolves around the safety and happiness of the child.
  • School has formed a Child Safety Committee to ensure safety and well being of every child in the campus.
  • The committee supervises the physical, mental, emotional and social well being of the students of the school.
  • This committee is headed by the Principal and has student representatives, teacher representatives, parent representatives and student counselor as the members.
  • The School counselor plays a very important role in receiving the complaints and discussing it with the principal.

Discipline

  • Everybody in the campus must behave in a disciplined and orderly way at all times
  • A Discipline committee is constituted which includes all the Physical Education teachers with the Principal and the rules formed by the committee will be strictly followed.
  • Students are not permitted to bring mobile phones, watches, i-pods etc., if found, it will be confiscated and punitive action will be taken
  • Teacher and taught must adhere to the bell timings and be present in the classes on time. 
  • Students must move in the school corridors in orderly lines, maintaining silence.
  • All students must bring a napkin and spoon along with the snacks /lunch.
  • Channels of communication have to be adhered to. Issues must be brought before the committee through the Class teachers or the Coordinators. 
  • The disciplinary actions for certain kind of breach of rules has already been laid out. Action will be taken based on the severity of the issues.

Uniform

  • A student’s personal grooming is the responsibility of the student and his/ her parents. Parents must ensure that neat turnout is maintained by the students at all times.

  • Students in untidy or improper uniforms will be warned and the same will be noted in the personal grooming page in the diary.

  • Students should cut nails; have tidy and well groomed hair short in the case of boys except Sikh boys. Streaked hair and fancy hairstyles are not permitted

  • The ID card must be worn on all school days. Lost ID cards will have to be ordered through the class teacher on a payment of Rs 100.

Homework

  • Home work activities will be given from 3rd grade onwards
  • The duration of work will vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours of self study based on the class child is in.
  • The home fun activity will be extended learning activity and can include reading, writing, research, experimenting, problem solving etc.
  • Parents of 3rd std to 5th std will have to monitor the activity done at home and motivate them to complete the given tasks.
  • Student must have made diary entry of the given Home work and take parents signature after completion.

Transportation

  • Transportation is a facility, not a compulsion on the part of the school. The school buses will move about at the discretion of the school authorities.

  • Please note that school bus will follow a fixed route and halt at fixed stops.  The school will not cater to individual requirements/ request.

  • Students will have to choose a suitable stop and come to it, the bus should not be kept waiting for any student. Parents will not detain the buses for any reason.

  • In case of small children, when the bus goes to drop them, the parent/ guardian must pick the child up at the stop. Of not, the child will be brought back to the school and the parents/ guardian will have to come to school to get their ward. School staff will not be available to take children to the homes.

  • Parents should not get into any argument with either the bus driver, teacher accompanying the bus, the bus assistant or any other students in the bus.

  • Transport facility of the child may be suspended or even cancelled for any such confrontation reported.  For any issue, parents must approach the transport in-charge manager and lodge a complaint with him.

  • Students travelling by school bus must maintain proper discipline and order.

Attendance

  • Students must maintain an attendance record of at least 80% throughout the session, any shortfall in this can lead to strict action including student’s appearance in the exam and promotion to the next class can be withheld.

  • Students must be very regular coming to school and not miss any day unless extremely urgent. Any leave, except for unforeseen/medical reasons must be applied for in the leave record page by the parent and leave secured in advance.

  • No students who have been absent the previous day will be allowed to attend class unless the parent has entered an explanation in the Leave Record page of diary.

  • Students who are absent for more than three days continuously will have to bring a written note from the parent and they  will be allowed to enter only after getting approval from the Principal

  • If any student is going on a long leave, more than 7 days, for a serious reason the parents/guardians should come in person and take permission from the Principal before proceeding for leave. 

  • If any student remains absent for more than one month without permission, the student’s name will be struck off the roll.  Parents will have to seek readmission for their ward for continuing in the school.

First Aid & Infirmary

  • School has a fully equipped Infirmary with a full time nurse and a visiting doctor. First Aid treatment and immediate help is given to the staff and students in need.  The patient can relax here till the parents or guardians come to pick them up. For any emergency the patient is rushed to the nearest hospital which is just a kilometer away. General check up involving eyes and oral hygiene are done annually.
